Our specimens are cows of the Casina or Asturian mountain breed, animals perfectly adapted to the territory and the ancestral ways of handling, with short legs and strong front carriages, they are mountaineers like few others, and watching them graze (pasture) one could almost say that sometimes they have more of a goat’s soul than a cow’s soul.
They are excellent mothers, protective and attentive, with good udders and a dense milk rich in fat and protein, in fact in the past they were also used to make delicious cheeses, which facilitates the rearing of calves that in most cases spend their first eight months of life suckling in the pastures with their mothers.
It is also an easy calving cow, which makes it very suitable for crossbreeding with some more meaty varieties such as the Limousin.
